I'll take your challenge too. We read out loud to each other all the time too, naps and bedtime and while we play school with my 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year olds. R is learning to read and very proud of herself! What I remembered the other day is that in our first two years of marriage my husband and I used to read to each other quite a bit, especially in the evenings while I was trying to relax my pregnant body, and also while I was in labor! It helped me focus on something else. So within the next week I'll read to him; we'll read a book together. I'm pregnant again, and need the relaxation so why not?! I'll let you know how it goes and what we read. And by the way I'm working on "The Count of Monte Cristo" and am really enjoying. I saw a play version of it several years ago that really surprised me. Check out my goodreads.com account and I'll keep you updated on what else I'm reading. And check out my reply to your memorization challenge, I finally responded!

Okay, T, I'll take your challenge - but with a twist. I am constantly reading to Zac, so that doesn't count. But I'm going to read to ME. I have a pile of books waiting for me, and a trip to St. Louis at the end of the month that involves some free time.
I'm also going to work on teaching Zac to read. He's alllllmost there.
Love the new design, BTW!

I need this challenge for my own children! I read to them usually just before bed because it is obligatory. I used to read more to them when I wasn't so busy. I know they love it so I need to take advantage of their interest.
Thanks for the challenge!

Wow, your site looks awesome! I love the new look, it's very nice. And "Illuminate Everyday" really represents your blog.

This is a great challenge. I read to my daughter daily... we will often sit for 30 minutes and read every book we can find. Sometimes she has me read the same book over and over. I think that reading to her since birth has really fostered her love of reading and our love of spending that one-on-one time together.

I will look for opportunities this month to read to someone else too. I'm not sure who but I know if I am open to it, the opportunity will present itself.
